I found you in an evergreen,
sifting grain and sifting seed
from underneath a cloud you looked at me,
tilted your head to better see
on the ground splayed out in snow,
i looked up from down below
behind your face the clouded sky,
summer somewhere asking why
you bit your lip and smiled and cried,
at the clouds you deeply sighed
behind your face is a sunny glow,
casting shadows down below.
where dark and light and dark reverse,
shadows where I warm myself.
pinecones falling down from space,
forests i can not erase.
climbing down you play with me,
melt the snow and lay with me.
close your eyes but show your smile,
and whisper words without a sound.
